First up top of the list in the Southern Cotswolds it has to be Castle Combe. It’s not surprise this village is often ranked number 1 most picturesque village in the country. It is pristinely kept and very quaint, it’s hard to take a bad photo even on a dreary winters day. Walk through the village by the market cross, visit the 12 century church, pas the Manor House and reach the river to look back on that classic view of Castle Combe.
Yet another picturesque village Lacock, whilst you wander the streets make your way over to Lacock Abbey, spot the spaces that feature in Harry Potter.
Westonbirt Arboretum, discover the parks of the arboretum, wander the forests and the gardens and the best part the treetop walk. It is also home to a lovely cafe, be sure to get your ticket in advance.
